What do I need to book a car?

To book a car with Max adventures CR in Costa Rica you must be 18 years old or older with a valid driver’s license and a valid passport (with an entry stamp to Costa Rica).

Do I need my own insurance?

No, you don’t need personal insurance coverage to book a car with us. All our rates include full coverage insurance.

Do I need an international license to drive in Costa Rica?

No. A valid driver’s license from your home country is accepted. You must obtain a valid passport (with an entry stamp) at all times.

Can other people drive a car that I booked?

Yes, one additional driver can be added for free as long as they are above 25 years old.
All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and passport information included in the rental agreement. We encourage you to request to add additional drivers before your trip starts.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel and get a full refund up to 2 weeks before your rental starts. If you cancel after the free cancellation period ends, you will be charged 50% of the deposit .
In the rare event we cancel, you’ll be notified immediately and the same cancellation policy terms and conditions will apply to us. When you approve the reservation you agree to these terms.

What happens if I have an accident?

Whatever problem you may have when driving, your first move must be to call us. Whether it’s a mechanical problem, a collision with another vehicle, or damage to third parties. Your first call must always be to us. 
The only exception for this first call is when you have an injury and require an ambulance. In that case, you must call 911 first, and secondly, us. Having a car accident in Costa Rica can be unnerving. Please remain calm, don’t move the car, and call us. We will advise you immediately and help you get back on your way.

Can I get my car delivered to me?

Yes, we offer delivery to SJO, LIR airports, Playa Sámara and surrounding areas.
There might be delivery fee based on distance.
